 Favorite Things Party

My sister-in-law and I hosted a Favorite Things party at the beginning of June. We had so much fun that I am thinking of doing another one very soon. We chose lime green and yellow for our colors (very summery, I think). We bought green baskets for everyone to take their goodies home in. So if you haven't heard of these kinds of parties, it is pretty simple. Everyone brings five things (under $6) to share. When they arrived we had everyone put their name in a bowl five times and each person took a turn sharing their favorite things and then drawing a name to give it away. So you bring five of your favorite things and leave with five new favorite things. Fun, huh?

Ashley and I had two swag bags to give to two lucky party goers. One was a cosmetics bag. See picture below. It included Ponds facial wipes, Cover Girl lash blast mascara, Revlon eye shadow, and Yes to carrots chapstick.

The second was an entertainment bag that included Pride & Prejudice DVD, Clockwork Angel book, Twizzlers, and Raisinets.

I brought the following for my five favorite things: The Alchemist (book), Ms. Meyers lavender hand soap, Aussie leaving-in-conditioner spray, Cover Girl lipgloss, and Pilot B2P pens.

Ashley brought B&BW hand soap, chalkboard spray paint, nail polish, jelly belly beans, and a water bottle (not pictured).

Sherry (my MIL) brought facial wax, sugar scrub, B&BW candle, B&BW hand lotion, and a bracelet.

We served cherry limeade and lemonade to drink...yum!

And we served feta, sun-dried tomato turkey sliders, and other goodies.

 And here are the guests

It was an interesting mix of things brought which included chocolate bars, wine single serving boxes, mini strainers from world market, single server cider, trail mix, mascara, eyeliner, eye makeup remover, and much more.

Happy 1st Birthday QUINN!

Quinn is 1 year old! Saturday we had her birthday party here in SA. It was a woodland themed party. Here are the decorations.

Shout out to my sister in law, Ashley for sewing the pendant banner and helping piece together the countless owl, squirrel, and hedgehog paper cut-outs. And below is the wreath I made for the front door.

And my father in law, Marty, cut out the owl and hedgehog signs. And I painted them with chalkboard paint to make them into signs. He also cut out several little woodland creatures, but somehow I didn't get a picture of those. The party favor was a counting book about birds.

Cupcakes...yum! I made several to look like owls with oreos and m&ms. Then used paper toppers on the rest.

Here is the birthday girl! I embroidered her a shirt and my sister made her the cute tutu.

This is the party favor table. Along with the book, we gave away trail mix. We made a mix for Quinn's age and one for the older kids. My sister made the cute owl bag toppers. Love them!

Quinn's favorite thing of the day was the balloons. She had a blast playing with them. Here she is with Meme and her orange balloon.

And here is Big Sis after eating her cupcake.
Thank you to all who came and special thanks to all of you who helped make it such a special day for Quinn.

9 Months old!!!

Can you believe it! Quinn is 9 months old. And look at those teeth! I affectionately call her "fang baby."

And here is my 4 year old who recently got into my makeup bag. To be fair, she applied creme blush, so she had most of it in the right spot!
